Dedicated pickleball facilities, indoor and outdoor, rent courts by the hour and run open play sessions where players rotate in. Padel, played on an enclosed court with glass walls, is arriving in the Sun Belt and big cities; platform tennis (paddle) is a winter game on heated, elevated courts in the Northeast and Midwest; racquetball and squash live inside athletic clubs and YMCAs; badminton and table tennis have their own clubs in most metro areas. Equipment is cheap to rent or borrow for a first session at nearly all of them.

My teen has been training at Egret Badminton Naperville for some time now, and while the coaching itself is good, I feel obligated to share this review as a warning to other parents about the very strange and concerning financial practices at this club. When we first came for a tryout, we were told that we could save $40 by paying cash instead of using a credit card to avoid transaction fees. We agreed, and paid only for that single tryout class, as was clearly discussed. To my shock, however, I later discovered a charge of $1,390 on my card, an amount corresponding to the full 48-lesson package, not the one class we had agreed to. Mistakes happen, but what was most frustrating is that even though they admitted the error, it still took nearly a month to get the money refunded. Then, to make matters worse, a separate charge for the tryout class appeared a month later, despite our clear agreement with the front desk that this tryout would count toward the 24-class session we had already purchased. It is unclear how that delayed charge even went through - especially since credit card information should not have been retained without authorization. So, while this club may offer good

The staff here are friendly and fair. However, some members here do bully people and abuse the rules. We were asked to give out our court many times even though everyone in other courts came earlier than we did. There was one time we were asked to leave only after playing 20 minutes and the guy asked us to move to another court which they don’t want to take. I don’t get it, why do they want to just kick people out even when there are other courts available? Also, I have witnessed at least 2 major conflicts with people yelling at each other with word abuses. I feel sorry for the front desk staff as she tried really hard to keep the order and she was even bullied many times.

I went to play today during open gym. We were new to the place and it was $21. We waited for an open court and then when we finally got the court, the worker came over prompted by the last court guests and told us we had to share the court cause it was crowded. It was weird as the people we had to share with were clearly more advanced. Ridiculous to share

Great clean indoor place to sweat & fun for all skill levels. There are many classes & groups to join. Although they have 9 courts, the issue is its always crowded from the late afternoon unless you come after 9 pm. Its clean, well alighted ( a little glaring on some cccourts). The A/C is good but with such avolumes its always sweaty after few games.
